CHRISTIAN ZIONISM

History and Present

  • Overview of Israel, the Church and the End of Days

Prepared by Pastors Robert Shepitka and Noel Sanderson, at the request of Rabbi Yaakov Kellman, Executive Director of Jewish Educational Resources of New York (JERNY).

  • - Contemporary history will come to an end after the promised ingathering from the nations of natural Israel (Jewish by birth) to the land of Israel (Deuteronomy 30:1-6, Isaiah 49, Jeremiah 31), after God’s final dispersion.
  •
  •
  • - The Light of Torah will have already gone to the Gentiles through Messiah Jesus of Nazareth (Isaiah 42:1-9, 53, 60, 61, 62).
  •

  • - The Gentiles who come to His light will carry natural Israel in their arms and on their shoulders (Isaiah 49:22) back to the land of Israel.
  •
  •
  • - During this time, one will arise who will make war against the holy ones and prevail against them.  He will speak words against the Supreme One and he will wear out the holy ones of the Most High (Daniel 7).  It will be a time of trouble such as never was since there was a nation (Daniel 12:1).
  •
  •
  • - God will pour out on Jerusalem the spirit of grace and supplication (Zechariah 14).  The promised Messiah (as ben David) then comes (returns)from heaven to the Mount of Olives and to Jerusalem (Zechariah 14), this time riding on the clouds (Daniel 7:13-14) rather than on a donkey (as ben Joseph) as before (Zechariah 9:9-10), to rescue the holy ones of the Most High (those who love Him with their whole heart, soul and strength) during a final time of trial and great persecution (Isaiah 24, 63, Daniel 7:21, 25).
  •
  •
  • - Messiah will execute judgment and wrath against the nations who raged against the Almighty (Psalm 2, Isaiah 24, 63).
  •
  •
  • - Messiah will then rule and reign from the temple of God in Jerusalem, for “…to Him was given dominion and glory and a Kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him.  His dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and His Kingdom the one which shall not be destroyed” (Daniel 7:13-14, Micah 4).

Rooted in the prophets (Tanakh), confirmed and brought to substance in the Gospels and the Book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ.

CHRISTIAN ZIONISM

"So, when I first encountered Christians who loved Israel and the Jewish people, I was taken aback until the conversation began.  Then and now, they said to me we love Israel and the Jewish people because in the first book of the Bible, it says:

I will bless those who bless you,
and whoever curses you I will curse;
and all peoples on earth
will be blessed through you.

And, this is the long of it and the short of it.  There is no hidden agenda."

"Change is Coming" - A conversation with David Nekrutman, Executive Director of the Center for Jewish-Christian Understanding and Cooperation in Efrat, and Cheryl Hauer, International Development Director of Bridges for Peace in Jerusalem, about the growing cooperation between Jews and Christians worldwide.

"Amish community asks forgiveness of Jews at Kotel" by Jonah Mandel (Jerusalem Post) - Novemeber 28, 2010 - Representatives take highly unusual step of using modern transportation to make journey to the Holy Land; commit to loudly supporting Jews. Representatives of the Amish community from the United States and Switzerland paid a visit to the Western Wall on Saturday night, where they asked the Jewish people’s forgiveness for their group’s silence during the Nazi extermination of Jews in the Holocaust.
